Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Harr y Potter’s second year at Hogwarts begins with a mysterious warning. While at the Dursleys', a house-elf named Dobby appears in Harry’s room, claiming that a "terrible plot" is being hatched and that Harry must not return to school. When Harry refuses, Dobby gets him into trouble, leading the Dursleys to lock Harry in his room. Fortunately, Ron Weasley and his twin brothers rescue Harry in a flying Ford Anglia, taking him to the Burrow where he experiences the warmth of a true wizarding home before heading back to Hogwarts.

Shortly after the school year begins, dark events start to unfold. A chilling, disembodied voice only Harry can hear echoes through the walls, and the caretaker’s cat is found petrified. Next to it, a message written in blood warns: "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir, beware." Legend says that Salazar Slytherin built a hidden chamber containing a monster that only his "True Heir" could control to purge the school of students who aren't from pure-blood wizarding families.

As more students are found petrified, the school is gripped by fear. Suspicion falls on Harry when it is revealed that he is a "Parselmouth"—someone who can speak to snakes—a rare ability linked to Salazar Slytherin himself. Determined to find the truth, Harry, Ron, and Hermione use Polyjuice Potion to spy on Draco Malfoy, but they learn he is not the Heir. Instead, Harry discovers a mysterious, enchanted diary belonging to a former student named Tom Riddle, which shows him memories claiming Hagrid was the one who opened the Chamber fifty years ago.

When Hermione is also petrified, Harry and Ron follow a trail of spiders into the Forbidden Forest as a final clue. There, they meet Aragog, a giant spider who reveals that Hagrid is innocent and that the monster in the Chamber is a creature spiders fear above all others. With this information, and a vital clue left in Hermione’s hand, Harry realizes the monster is a Basilisk—a king of serpents that kills with its gaze. He also discovers that the entrance to the Chamber is hidden in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom.

The stakes become life-and-death when Ron’s sister, Ginny, is dragged into the Chamber. Harry and Ron enter the tunnels, but a rockfall separates them, forcing Harry to face the danger alone. Inside the Chamber, Harry finds Ginny unconscious and meets the spectral memory of Tom Riddle. Riddle reveals he is actually a young Lord Voldemort and has been using the diary to possess Ginny. He summons the Basilisk to kill Harry, but Dumbledore’s phoenix, Fawkes, arrives to help, blinding the serpent and bringing Harry the Sorting Hat.

From the Sorting Hat, Harry pulls the Sword of Godric Gryffindor and manages to slay the Basilisk, though he is wounded by a venomous fang. In a desperate final move, Harry stabs Tom Riddle’s diary with the Basilisk fang, destroying the memory and saving Ginny. Fawkes heals Harry’s wound with phoenix tears, and they return to the school as heroes. The film ends with Harry tricking Lucius Malfoy into freeing Dobby the house-elf, while the school celebrates the return of Hagrid and the recovery of all the petrified students.
