Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
The story of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" begins with Harry Potter, an orphaned boy living a miserable life with his cruel aunt, uncle, and their son, Dudley. Harry, who sleeps in a small cupboard under the stairs, has no idea about the special powers he possesses. However, on his 11th birthday, a giant named Rubeus Hagrid arrives to meet him and reveals that Harry is actually a wizard who has been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It is then that Harry learns he is famous in the wizarding world for surviving an attack by the dark wizard Lord Voldemort when he was just a baby.
Accompanied by Hagrid, Harry travels to Diagon Alley to purchase his magic wand and other school supplies. Afterward, he boards the Hogwarts Express from Platform $9 \frac{3}{4}$, where he meets his future best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Upon arriving at Hogwarts, the students are sorted into four houses, and all three friends are placed in "Gryffindor." While learning charms, flying, and the sport of Quidditch, they discover a mystery surrounding a forbidden corridor on the school's third floor.
The trio discovers that a three-headed dog named "Fluffy" is guarding a trapdoor on the third floor. They realize it is protecting the "Sorcerer's Stone," a legendary object that grants immortality. Harry suspects that the Potions Master, Professor Snape, is attempting to steal the stone for Voldemort. To prevent this, Harry, Ron, and Hermione secretly enter the restricted area. To reach the stone, they must overcome a series of dangerous obstacles, including the deadly plant "Devil's Snare," flying keys, and a massive game of Wizard's Chess, where Ron risks his life to allow Harry to move forward.
In the final chamber, Harry is shocked to find not Professor Snape, but Professor Quirrell. It is revealed that Voldemort's weakened soul has been living on the back of Quirrell's head. Although Voldemort needs the stone to regain his power, the "Mirror of Erised" places the stone in Harry's pocket because of his pure intentions. When Quirrell tries to touch Harry, he is burned and destroyed by the power of love left behind by Harry's mother’s sacrifice. Ultimately, Voldemort's spirit flees, and Headmaster Dumbledore decides to destroy the stone. The school year ends with Gryffindor winning the House Cup, and Harry bids farewell to his true home, Hogwarts, to return to the Dursleys for the summer.
